Engineer Ken Pillonel (Ken Pillonel), who previously made the iPhone with USB-C, introduced an Android smartphone with a working Lightning port. The new port is said to charge the smartphone and transfer data. Now the author is preparing a detailed video explaining the technical details.

At the same time, Pillonel told the media that the main problem was the creation of an emulator device that makes the system “think” that an Apple smartphone is charging.
Lightning cables sold by Apple are not “dumb”. They only charge devices from the company itself. I had to figure out a way to trick the cable into thinking it was plugged into an Apple device. And then this whole system had to be somehow put in the smartphone case.
The author also noted that USB-C in the iPhone looked advantageous and opened up new opportunities, but an Android smartphone with Lightning, on the other hand, works worse.

I don’t think anyone would want to make this their primary device. I just tried my hand at this project.
Note that Apple has introduced USB-C in its tablets and laptops, but smartphones for some reason stuck with the old connector.
