Most Russians have not changed a previously established password in a home router. This is stated in the “Kaspersky Laboratory” study, which is under the command of “Gazeta.ru”.
According to the survey, 39% of the Russians did not change the password from a home router and 18% made a change in accounting data. Only 27% of the participants updated the password shortly after purchasing a router.
Experts in the field of cyber security warn that the lack of a timely password creates serious risks: attackers can get control over information flows, restructure the network or use a device for internal infrastructure attacks. In this context, Kaspersky ICS CERT Specialist Vladimir Dashchenko recommends that you change the standard password for a complex unique combination and update the router’s software regularly.
According to Merlion and Citylink Supply Department Director Nikolai Pulich, it is important to consider the support of modern Wi-Fi 6 standard, the presence of gigabit ports and the support of a powerful processor. Regular updates of construction software also play an important role in protection against cybercism.
Experts provide advice regularly updated by devices, and also use two factors authentication and comprehensive solutions to improve the protection of personal data.
Previously, the main objective of computer pirates at the beginning of 2025 steel Russian IT companies.
