According to the new data of the analytical company consumer intelligence research partners (CIRP), the new Apple iPhone 16E model showed a confident start in the American market. For the first missing quarter of the presence (January – March 2025), the share of the iPhone 16e has reached 7% of all iPhone sales in the United States, which exceeded the share of iPhone SE sales in the same period last year. In general, the entire iPhone 16 line, which is currently five models, has received 74% of the total iPhone sales in the United States in the first quarter of 2025. This indicator increases in the same 2024 period compared to 68% of the shares occupied by four iPhone 15.
Although the 16E model has made a significant contribution to this growth, CIRP data shows interesting internal changes in the sequence. The share of the standard iPhone 16 has increased significantly and reached 20% of the total sales, while the iPhone was only 14% in the first quarter of the previous year.
At the same time, the pro models showed an unexpected decrease in their shares. In the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, 38% of all iPhone sales announced, which is less than 45% of the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models. In particular, the share of the iPhone 16 Pro decreased from 22% to 17% of the market.
CIRP analysts argue that the Apple strategy may bring results to strengthen positions in the average price segment. Apparently more buyers select a standard iPhone 16 instead of more expensive professional models. At the same time, the appearance of 16E probably attracts customers who can get old models before.
