WhatsApp messenger will now be able to see statuses in the chat list, informs WABetaInfo portal. The corresponding functionality was spotted in beta versions of the messenger for iOS and Android.
The status is similar to Stories, which allows users to post photos or short videos that are automatically deleted after 24 hours.
WhatsApp beta testers who installed the latest update found that statuses sent by contacts can now be opened from the chat list. At the same time, the “States” section remained in the same place and also allows you to view the media files shared by users from the notepad.
The editors of the 9to5mac portal believe that the popularization of statuses will allow WhatsApp to add more ads on Instagram (the owner of Meta is considered an extremist organization), as implemented in Stories.
Formerly socialbites.ca saidWhatsApp announced that developers will ban users from taking screenshots of photos and videos for one-time viewing purposes.
