Nvidia has released an update to its graphics drivers and software that fixes eight vulnerabilities affecting Windows and Linux operating systems. The portal reports this without video card.
The update resolves several vulnerabilities that could allow attackers with local access to execute malicious code, steal data, or cause systems to crash.
Among the most important fixes, two high-severity vulnerabilities stand out. The first of these (CVE-2024-0150) is a buffer overflow that can lead to system compromise, data interception, and information disclosure; CVE-2024-0146 affects the virtual GPU manager, which can lead to memory corruption and potentially malicious code. Execution and takeover of the system.
Nvidia recommends Windows users update to at least driver version 553.62 or 539.19, and Linux users update to driver version 550.144.03 or 535.230.02. The updates are for Nvidia RTX, Quadro, NVS and Tesla GPUs.
Users in enterprise environments using Nvidia virtualization technologies may face additional risks if they do not install updates because the vulnerabilities are being exploited locally by attackers. These vulnerabilities pose a serious security risk in virtual environments where multiple users share GPU resources.
Previously at AMD named release date of a new series of video cards.
