Nvidia introduced new GeForce RTX 50XX series graphics cards at CES 2025, including the RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti and 5070. The manufacturer confirmed performance gains in ray tracing (RT) without using DLSS technology. about this reports WccfTech publication.
Compared to the previous generation (RTX 40 series), the increase ranges from 15% to 30%. The RTX 5090 shows a 30% performance increase in RT mode, while the RTX 5080 shows a 15% increase in RT performance. RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 models provide a 20% increase. It should be noted that the previously announced two-fold performance increase was achieved only by using DLSS 4 MFG technology.
Although the performance increase without DLSS does not seem very significant compared to the previous generation, Nvidia highlights support for new technologies such as Neural Rendering, Neural Shading and improved RTX Fur, RTX Hair and RTX Skin effects.
The RTX 5090 (32 GB memory) and RTX 5080 (16 GB memory) focus on gaming at 4K resolution, while the RTX 5070 Ti (16 GB memory) and RTX 5070 (12 GB memory) target 1440p resolution.
Suggested retail prices: RTX 5090 – $1999, RTX 5080 – $999, RTX 5070 Ti – $749, and RTX 5070 – $549. Sales of RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 will start on January 30, while RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 will go on sale in February.
