“Scammers increasingly began to use zero stage in their deception schemes, which forms the basis of another myth and aims to distract potential victims and gain their trust through dialogues that are not directly related to money,” Khrapunova said.
He added that in the end, such communication will still end with a request for money. The expert called for checking messages from State Services, law enforcement agencies, the Central Bank and acquaintances.
“A call to a friend, a message sent through another messenger, a security question that only you know the answer to; these simple methods will protect you from being scammed,” advises one cybersecurity expert.
