HMD Global has introduced the HMD Fusion smartphone, which the company positions as a modular device with interchangeability. The portal reports that GSMArena.
An important feature of the new product is the use of interchangeable cases, which allow you to add various functions, such as wireless charging, increased durability or a ring light for photo and video shooting. Additional modules can be attached to the back of the smartphone using a special connector.
Users will also be able to 3D print the cases themselves using software on the company’s website. HMD Global plans to start shipping the first cases in the fourth quarter of this year. The HMD Fusion is built in a translucent plastic case and is highly repairable, according to the company, which sets it apart from many modern devices.
The device offers a 6.56-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate, a 108MP main camera complemented by a 2MP depth sensor, and a 50MP selfie camera. The device’s performance is provided by the budget Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip, as well as 6 or 8GB of RAM and 128 or 256GB of permanent storage, expandable via microSD card.
The smartphone is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support and the new product runs Android 14.
In Europe, the price of HMD Fusion is set at €249 (about 24.6 thousand rubles).
