Chinese company Pico It was announced The Pico 4 Ultra is a new mixed reality headset positioned as a competitor to the Quest 3 (which is considered extremist and banned in Russia).
The new product is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon XR Gen 2 chipset, 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB UFS 3.1 drive. The Pico 4 Ultra has two 2.56-inch screens with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a resolution of 2160×2160 pixels, providing a 105-degree field of view. Adjustable interpupillary distance ranges from 58 to 72mm.
The device is also equipped with four cameras for tracking, two 32 MP cameras for mixed reality and four microphones. The Pico 4 Ultra is capable of recording 3D video with a resolution of 2048×1536 at 60 frames per second. The sound system is represented by two stereo speakers, and autonomy is provided by a 5700 mAh battery with support for 45 W fast charging.
The headset runs the Android-based Pico OS. The headset supports both gaming and business applications in mixed reality. Key features include the ability to connect to a laptop to work with virtual monitors and a smartphone, and the ability to create a virtual environment using AI.
Control is carried out using two controllers with a motion sensor and a game button. Also mentioned is the support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and the weight of the headset is 580 grams. In China, the price of the Pico 4 Ultra is set at 4,299 yuan (about 52 thousand rubles).
