One in three pet owners in Russia (32%) regularly buys gadgets for them, and another 9% plan to do so. He says In the study Hi-Tech Mail.ru.
The survey found that 66% of respondents had pets. The most popular were cats, which 54% of owners owned. 31% of respondents had dogs, and 16% had both cats and dogs. Unusual pets included crocodiles, toothfish, Nile fruit bats and raccoons.
The majority (53%) have not purchased equipment for animals and are not considering it. Meanwhile, 6% have tried equipment for animals but have been disappointed.
The most popular products include grooming devices (67%), educational toys (43%), drinking fountains or smart water bowls (19%), lighted collars (16%) and smart feeders (10%). Other devices mentioned include automatic paw washers, groomers, geolocation trackers, security cameras and nail grinders.
The majority of owners (69%) are ready to spend from 1,000 to 5,000 rubles on devices. One in ten (11%) is ready to spend from 5,000 to 10,000 rubles, 7% are ready to spend more than 10,000 rubles. Another 13% are not yet ready to pay for such devices. The main reason for refusing to buy devices is their uselessness (67%), 10% of respondents are not satisfied with the price, and 8% are afraid that pets may be afraid of devices. 14% of respondents indicated other reasons.
