Google Deletes Russian Musician Shaman’s Channel Because He Is Russian 07/04/2024, 21:34

Google has blocked the YouTube channel of Russian musician Yaroslav Dronov, known by the nickname Shaman. The singer explained this by the fact that he is Russian, writes his Telegram channel Base.

Dronov commented on the blocking: “My YouTube channel was blocked because I’m Russian.”

At the time of the blocking, Dronov’s channel had almost three million subscribers. In June, Dronov, Polina Gagarina and actor Ivan Okhlobystin were blacklisted as part of the EU’s 14th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation.

In addition to Shaman, the channels of Oleg Gazmanov, Yulia Chicherina, Polina Gagarina, Grigory Leps and Vyacheslav Manucharov were also blocked on YouTube.

Also on YouTube at the end of June deleted Channels of foreigners who speak positively about Russia. Among them are Sasha Jost’s channel Sasha Meets Russia, Fiorella Isabel’s channel Fiorella in Moscow, and many others. Moreover, representatives of the video hosting site do not specify the specific reasons for the blocking, explaining the situation as “serious or persistent violation of community guidelines.”
