Google Password Manager has a new feature that allows you to securely share passwords between members of the same family group. In this respect reports Android Authority publication.
This feature was announced by the company as part of Safer Internet Day in February 2024, but became available only after Google Play Services was updated to version 24.20 in May 2024.
When users share their password using Google Password Manager, other members of their family group automatically receive a ready-to-use copy of the password. This functionality can be useful, for example, when more than one person uses one account to access the kindergarten system, or when a child only provides access to educational materials to one of the parents.
However, the password sharing feature is only available to users added to the same family group and currently only works on mobile devices, not desktop computers. To use this feature, you need to create a family group and add members to it.
