According to the latest report from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus were less popular in the US than the previous generation of Apple smartphones. In this respect reports MacRumor’s publication.
iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max accounted for 22% and 23%, respectively, of all Apple smartphones sold in the first quarter of 2024. In comparison, the iPhone 15 occupied 14% of the market and the 15 Plus occupied 9%. It’s notable that the base iPhone 14 also accounted for 14% of all sales.
CIRP statistics show that the popularity of the new iPhone 15 and 15 Plus is not only low in 2024, but also compared to the success of previous models in the first quarter of last year. So in the first quarter of 2023, the base iPhone 14 accounted for 19% of all sales, and the 14 Plus accounted for 10%. So, six months after the start of sales, it turned out that the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus were more popular than the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus by 5% and 1%, respectively.
Interestingly, older Apple smartphones are still very popular in the United States, according to CIRP. Thus, iPhone SE, iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini accounted for 5%, 9% and 1% of all iPhones sold in the first quarter of 2024, respectively.
