Apple CollectorDemoYT provided MacRumor’s post gets exclusive images of Apple Watch and iPad demo samples. These devices are integrated into a special stand that allows two devices to be paired.
What makes this event special is that the Apple Watch can be connected to an iPad; “normal” users can only connect their watch to one iPhone. The prototype used a modified iPad mini 2 running iOS 8.2, paired with the original Apple Watch running watchOS 1.0, with both devices housed in a specially designed case.
The change to the iPad removed some components, including the camera, microphone, and speakers, and redesigned the tablet’s body, which serves as the base for the stand. The Apple Watch has undergone significant changes, including the creation of holes for mounting on a display stand and a special shorter sports band.
While synchronization between the watch and the tablet was carried out via a cable, the iPad pulled double duty: it provided interactive interaction with the Apple Watch and served as a charging source.
To interact with Apple Watch and iPad, Apple Watch Demo, a custom application that requires a connection to the Apple server to work, was used. This kit was used to promote the first generation Apple Watch in some stores.
