Prices for computers and laptops have fallen in Russia. Having increased by a third in March, they are now back at the level of the beginning of the year. The media reported this with reference to M.Video-Eldorado and MTS.

This became possible due to the strengthening of the ruble exchange rate and a decrease in the demand for equipment from buyers. It is assumed that parallel imports will cause prices to fall even more.
Experts have calculated that in the second quarter of 2022, 15% fewer laptops were sold in Russia than in the same period of 2021. Demand fell after the hype at the end of the first quarter, when computers and laptops were bought up for fear of price increases .
Now prices are being lowered to support sales as shoppers are running out of money and most of the spending is now on more basic items.
To attract buyers, retailers not only lowered prices, installment plans, lending programs and promotions quickly returned to stores.
In addition, the range was reduced as fewer gaming laptops were imported to Russia, which also affected the price.
