Nvidia, in collaboration with another manufacturer, is working on a portable console that could compete with the Steam Deck, ASUS ROG Ally and other Chinese devices. On this subject with reference to sources reports authoritative MLID insider.
Nvidia plans to supply its own graphics processor to a third-party manufacturer, an insider said. Currently, almost all portable Windows consoles are equipped with AMD graphics.
This isn’t Nvidia’s first entry into the portable market. In 2013, the company released the SHIELD Portable equipped with a Tegra 4 mobile processor, but since the device runs on the Android operating system, it had a limited number of gaming options. The new Nvidia console will be designed to run high-quality and high-level games.
A gaming device from Nvidia won’t be going on sale anytime soon. Moreover, as an insider noted, we’re not talking about the next-gen Steam Deck, as Valve has already struck a deal with AMD.
Currently, the only portable console with an Nvidia chip is the Nintendo Switch, which is powered by the Tegra X1 mobile processor.
Previously Intel showed Turkish portable console Tulpar.
