With the release of the next beta of Zenless Zone Zero, a new gacha game from the developers of Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, the protagonist Nicole has lost her chest animation and clear presentation in the menu. In the Zenless Zone Zero character settings, the screen is divided into two parts: on the left is the 3D model of the hero, and on the right is his skills. So, in the first versions, the model Nicole was presented quite openly: during the presentation, the camera focused attention on the girl’s intimate parts, and her breasts swayed strongly when moving. But at the beginning of beta testing, the developers greatly corrected Nicole’s presentation: now the camera takes modest angles, and the breasts hardly move.
Nicole isn’t the only heroine whose sexuality has been toned down by the developers. For example, the thigh-baring stockings of the female character Soldier 11 were replaced with tight tights, and the length of Nikomete’s shorts was increased.
These changes caused mixed reactions among players. Many were unhappy with the update and accused the developers of censorship and bigotry. At least one of the comments from a dissatisfied user says that the flashy costumes and animations of the heroes are the best part of Zenless Zone Zero.
“Who came up with this bright idea that would hurt the sales of the game?” – wrote one Reddit user.
