The web version of WhatsApp now has a lock screen feature where you can restrict the use of the messenger by unauthorized persons. In this respect informs WABetaInfo portal.
The feature was first mentioned in November 2022. Now the novelty has become available to a large number of beta testers of WhatsApp Web for PC. This feature allows you to block access to the messenger and requires you to enter a special password after each boot.
If the user forgets the password, he must end the session and then re-authorize using a QR code on the screen of a computer and smartphone with an active WhatsApp session.
Enabling this feature ensures that if someone accesses the user’s computer in their absence, they cannot read their messages without entering a password. Also, push notifications will not be displayed until a password is entered.
Currently the blocking feature is being tested, so it is not yet available in the stable version of WhatsApp Web. A similar feature is provided for all other platforms, including the messenger client on Android and iOS.
