Mortal Kombat 1’s online mods will feature a special finishing move called Quitality that was first introduced in the series with the release of Mortal Kombat X. informs DTF Portal.
Quitality is a kind of finisher in which the character makes a spectacular suicide. If the player logs out during an online match, the animation starts automatically.
Quitality’s return to Mortal Kombat 1 was announced after a server stress test conducted by NetherRealm from June 23-26. Some of the cast members recorded a Quitality demo and posted the videos on social media.
Judging by the clips released, Mortal Kombat 1 currently has two Quitality animations. In one, the character breaks his own neck, and in the other, he breaks into pieces. It has not been reported whether other types of “self-destruct” will appear in the game at launch.
Mortal Kombat 1 is scheduled to be released on September 19, 2023. The fighting game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, and Nintendo Switch.
