A prototype smartphone running the KasperskyOS operating system from the Russian company Kaspersky Lab is already equipped with basic services for calls, SMS, contact registration and settings. “The core applications are already running on a prototype of a professional mobile device running KasperskyOS,” said Ivanovsky.
Next up, according to him, is the implementation of Wi-Fi, NFC and camera support. Ivanovsky noted that these components are primarily required for certain “industrial scenarios.”
Also, Kaspersky Lab is currently working on creating a browser for KasperskyOS. It is known that it will be built on the Chromium open source engine.
Smartphones running KasperskyOS were not reported at launch. But according to Ivanovsky, both Russian and Asian companies can participate in their production.
