In 2022, 50% of Russian companies had problems renewing their foreign software licenses, 32% complained of problems with technical support, 32% of paying for the service, and one-tenth of software bugs. In this respect informs A2: Vedomosti publication citing the results of a survey conducted by the Research research center on Russian entrepreneurs.
Experts interviewed by the publication noted that, above all, the situation with foreign software is dangerous for companies in the field of critical information infrastructure (CII). Untimely software updates pose a risk to organizations’ information security.
Many companies have switched to their domestic counterparts and solved the problem with foreign software.
“During 2022, customers contacted us with a request for an urgent transition from foreign software to Russian products – the number of applications for pilots increased sixfold,” said Pavel Kalyakin, CEO of Moyoffice.
The A2:Research survey also showed that it is important for 58% of entrepreneurs that the software used in their company is developed in the Russian Federation. In addition, 57% of respondents said they have already switched to native software in 2022.
