Embracer Group acquires Square Enix studios and franchises like ‘Tomb Raider’ and ‘Deux Ex’

This industry video game going through a period of change. Proof of this is the decision of the Japanese publisher, Square Enix to get rid of some of its studios and franchises about great Westerners $300 million to be paid by Embracer Group, with names like THQ Nordic and Saber Interactive, among others. Regarding these brands, some franchises such as ‘Just Cause’, ‘Outriders’ and ‘Life is Strange’ developed by the publisher’s remaining western studios will continue to develop normally. As for Square Enix’s intentions regarding the sale, if we listen to its executives, the goal is to advance investment in new technologies like blockchain, artificial intelligence and cloud gaming to fit the business of the future. But despite the announcement, the acquisition of Embracer Group must be approved by the relevant regulatory authorities between July and September of this year.
