More than a quarter of the Russians who participated in the survey believes that financial scammers use hypnosis. This has been proven by the results of a survey conducted by the Webbankir Platform, which entered the Gazeta.ru’s broadcast office.
Participants who have an experience of communicating with scammers say that they mostly call for a mobile phone (91.4%selected) or popular journalists – telegram, WhatsApp and Vkontakte (75.1%). It uses fake identity hunting sites (39.7%of the answers), SMS bulletins (33.5%) and fake mobile applications (23.3%) (23.3%) than those who participated in the survey. Less than all of them, calls for the city phone (14.8%) are common.
The most popular legend in fraudulent plans is communication on behalf of representatives of law enforcement officers (FSB, Police, Russian guard). 62.6% of the participants were recorded. A little less often attackers seem to be the employees of the country’s largest commercial banks (60.3%). In addition, fraudsters often imitate the employees of the Central Bank. This was shown by 40.9% of the survey participants.
23.3 % are aware of the cases sent by scammers by government or public services employees – for example by the town hall or “public services .. One -fifth is aware of the sections in which public services or administrative companies (20.6%) appear or messages come from so -called friends and acquaintances (19.8%). The majority of the participants who answered the question about protection measures against fraudsters (77%) said that they tried not to respond to messages and calls from non -familiar contacts. 32.3 % regularly read news about different fraudulent schemes to “not reach the same fishing rod”. 22.2 %, when they call on behalf of a kind of organization or person, they put the phone and call back there. To consult 21.4%, he immediately talks about suspicious situations to their loved ones, and 21% asks them to contact them later, so there is time to consider. Only 8.9% of the respondents said they did not take any precautions to protect against fraudsters.
