In the program code of the new version of the iOS 16.4 RC mobile operating system for iPhones, new headphones – Beats Studio Buds +, code number 8214 – were mentioned. 9to5Mac.
It is stated that starting from 2021, the new Buds+, like the regular Beats Studio Buds, will get active noise canceling and transparency mode. According to journalists’ sources, Beats Studio Buds+ will continue to use a custom Beats chip instead of the Apple H1/H2.
At the same time, Beats Studio Buds+ will support audio sharing, automatic device switching and “Hey Siri” functionality, just like AirPods with Apple chip.
The new Beats headphones, codenamed 8214, will also feature media controls for play/pause and press and hold on a dedicated area on the case to switch between noise canceling modes.
Beats Studio Buds+ is expected to be announced next week as soon as the final version of iOS 16.4 is released.
