Computer users with Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti graphics cards manufactured by Gigabyte crash after playing at least one scene in Diablo IV. Problem Complaints seen On the official Blizzard forums during closed beta testing, which runs from March 17 to March 19.
The first post about video card corruption was written by a user nicknamed AsaSenpai. At first, other forum participants did not believe him and called him a troll. But then the situation changed when other people started complaining about a similar problem.
“My video card also burned out. While playing, the fans of my Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Ti suddenly started running at max speed. At the same time, the signal from the monitor disappeared. After turning the power off, I could no longer run it,” one ForANge user wrote.
According to him, the jump in the load on the video card occurred in the cutscene with flowers.
At the time the news was posted on the forum, at least 10 participants complained of the issue described above. In the same unfortunate scene as the flowers, everyone had the same video card behavior.
Some users with the RTX 3080 Ti wrote that they managed to avoid the problem by skipping that cutscene.
It is unknown what causes Nvidia graphics cards to fail in Diablo IV. Blizzard, the company responsible for the development of the game, did not comment on the situation at the time of publication.
Diablo 4 is the sequel to the iconic RPG series set in a dark fantasy setting. The game’s release date is scheduled for June 6, 2023. Diablo 4 will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
