In February 2023, the network infrastructure of a number of Russian retailers was subjected to a series of DDoS attacks. In this respect informs TASS refers to data from StormWall.
It was noted that the attacks were aimed at payment systems, online cash registers and delivery services of companies. StormWall cited the networks Pyaterochka and Perekrestok as examples of affected organizations.
A wave of events was observed from February 3 to February 25. The strength of individual attacks reached 600 Gbps. Most often, attackers tried to disable payment systems and online cashiers.
As a result of the events, some online stores worked intermittently. Specifically, customers were unable to pay for orders and arrange delivery on their website.
The next wave of cyberattacks against Russian retailers on StormWall is expected to begin in May. The company’s experts believe that future DDoS attacks could be 2-3 times stronger than those recorded in February.
