Popular smartphone owners have been asked to temporarily disable two features due to hackers 09:39

Google announced that it has discovered 18 dangerous vulnerabilities in Samsung’s Exynos modems, which are used in many popular smartphone models. Portal reports 9to5Google.

Among the vulnerabilities found are those classified as dangerous, specifically allowing hackers to remotely execute any code on the victim’s device. This means that a smartphone can be hijacked without any intervention from the owner, for this the scammer only needs to know the phone number. The problem has been fixed in Exynos Modem 5123, Exynos Modem 5300, Exynos 980, Exynos 1080 and Exynos Auto T5123 modems.

Such modems are especially used in S22, M33, M13, M12, A71, A53, A33, A21, A13, A12 and A04 series Samsung Galaxy smartphones, S16, S15, S6, X70, X60 and X30 Vivo smartphones. series, as well as smartphones Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and 7 Pro.

Until all of these devices receive a security patch, Google has urged to temporarily disable Wi-Fi calling and Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) features. This measure will protect users from possible abuse by hackers.
