It has been determined that Apple’s open source code, which is available to all users, is talking about the “realityOS” operating system. It is assumed that the brand will form the basis of the yet-to-be-announced mixed reality headset. 9to5Mac.
There are many rumors about the company’s AR helmet as well as the new operating system, but Apple hasn’t even officially confirmed that the device is in development. Thus, the mention of realityOS in open source was the company’s first “announcement”.
It is known that the name realityOS also appeared in the App Store logs before. In addition, the relevant trademark was registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in 2021.
There is another version from the Bloomberg agency, in which the new operating system can be called “xrOS”, referring to the term “extended reality” (Russian “augmented reality”). However, there is no confirmation of this theory yet.
