Apple will no longer prohibit employees from reporting workplace harassment or discrimination. newspaper reports Finance Times.
Relevant changes have been made to the non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) that all Apple employees sign upon entering employment. Earlier, they added a clause that prohibited employees from discussing “working conditions”.
Now, Apple management has acknowledged that Apple employees have the right to “talk freely about harassment or harassment at work.”
The new rules come after former Apple engineer Cher Scarlett, who started the #AppleToo movement, was fired from the company. She stated that Apple did not allow her to disclose the details of her dismissal due to agreement and non-disclosure. Shortly after, a group of US officials called on the SEC to investigate Apple and see if the Cupertino brand was actually using its NDAs to silence employees about all workplace misconduct cases.
