Striker “Zenith” Malcolm of St. Petersburg has addressed rumors about a possible departure from Zenit. He communicated to Match TV in clear terms.
“I’m not sure what this is about. Right now my focus is on celebrating another title with Zenit and earning a second star,” Malcolm stated.
The Brazilian forward had not ruled out the possibility of leaving Neva shores to test himself in European competitions at some point.
During the summer, Zenit teammates Malcolm and Claudinho signaled their desire to remain with the Neva team for the upcoming season. Subsequently, they explored the idea of obtaining Russian citizenship in the long term.
In this season’s Russian Premier League, Malcolm has tallied 16 goals and added 5 assists across 21 appearances.
