Petersburg’s football club Zenit has announced a shift in its management framework, according to the club’s press office. The organization is introducing a new executive body, a board of directors, to oversee key decisions and strategic direction.
The board is designed to streamline decision making and make governance more efficient. It will comprise nine members, with the team’s head coach, Sergei Semak, taking a seat on the panel.
In the 2022/23 season, Zenit Petersburg claimed the league title for the fifth consecutive year, highlighting the club’s domestic dominance. CSKA Moscow finished second, earning silver, while Spartak Moscow took bronze. Relegation in the same season saw Khimki and Torpedo drop to the First Division.
Earlier, Zenit and Malcolm, the Brazilian attacking midfielder, were recognized for their standout performances in the Russian Premier League 2022/23 season.
Zenit continues to emphasize stability and long-term planning, aiming to maintain top performance levels while expanding its impact in Russian football and related sports initiatives. The new board is expected to provide clearer oversight on player development, scouting, and financial planning, aligning with the club’s goals for sustained success and responsible leadership.
