Zakharyan’s absence shapes RPL clash and standings

Dynamo Moscow’s head coach Slavisha Jokanovich explained that Arsen Zakharyan had to miss the clash with Krasnodar in the 19th round of the Russian Premier League due to a fever and elevated temperatures. The decision was made to protect the midfielder from illness and avoid risking his health by traveling to Krasnodar.

In the reportable match, Dynamo entered the game with ambition but ended up on the wrong side of the result. The home side took the lead through Konstantin Tyukavin in the 19th minute, showcasing sharp attacking intent. Krasnodar responded quickly with a clever strike from Nikita Krivtsov and an inspired contribution from Brazilian midfielder Cady Borges, shifting momentum in their favor. The balance swung further when Cameroonian midfielder Moumi Ngamale was sent off for a second booking in the 59th minute, leaving Dynamo to chase the game with ten players.

By full time, Krasnodar had added three points to their tally, lifting their position to seventh with 29 points. Dynamo, on the other hand, remained in fourth place with 32 points, still in the hunt for a podium finish as the campaign progressed toward its later stages.

Meanwhile, Vitaly Dyakov, a former defender for Dynamo Moscow and Rostov, offered thoughts on the state of domestic football. He voiced concerns about the level of play among foreign players in the Russian Premier League, arguing that the quality of these imports has not met expectations and has impacted overall competition and development within the league. His comments reflect a broader debate about player development, scouting, and the long-term health of Russian football as it competes on the European stage.
