HOST NATIONS & VENUES
The host nation for the World Cup is Indonesia, with matches scheduled in Surabaya, Surakarta, Jakarta and Bandung. Initially Peru was slated to stage the event after FIFA awarded the right in October 2019, but in April 2023 the rights were withdrawn. FIFA explained that Peru faced challenges in delivering the required infrastructure and securing timely investment in cooperation with the Peruvian government. The federation expressed gratitude to the Peruvian Football Federation for its efforts and left open the possibility of a future event in Peru.
PARTICIPANT SELECTION
National teams from across six confederations pursued qualification paths, aiming to secure a place in the final tournament. The process involved regional qualifying rounds that culminated in the list of participants now set for the event, underscoring the growing depth of youth football across the regions.
