The head of Moscow club Torpedo, Yaroslav Savin, addressed the possibility of terminating contracts with several players. His comments reflect ongoing discussions about contract terms and player release options, highlighting that departures can be managed under agreed conditions rather than through coercive measures.
Asked whether Ravil Neftullin had signaled an intent to end his deal, Savin clarified that every player’s contract contains a clause permitting termination, but stressed that the club does not operate as a slave system. Both sides retain the right to end a contract under specific circumstances, provided they follow the established procedures.
In a recent 0-3 defeat to CSKA in the 27th round of the Russian Premier League, Torpedo’s hopes of securing a residence permit for next season in the top division were effectively dashed.
Last season, Torpedo captured the First Division title and earned promotion back to the RPL after seven years. The journey included a period of significant change, with the club appointing four head coaches over the season, and currently guided by Spaniard Josep Clotet.
Famed striker Artem Dzyuba, formerly of the Russian national team, has suggested that his contributions could help shield the club from relegation concerns in the top flight, offering potential leadership on and off the pitch for a squad facing tough challenges (Source: Sports Express).
