From March 2, Yaroslav Savin will take charge of the club. Born in 1984, Savin has trained at notable sports institutions including Cruyff Institute and Barça Innovation Hub, and has professional stints at Barcelona, Manchester United, and Galatasaray. Prior to this appointment, Torpedo announced Savin as the incoming head coach following his selection by the club’s leadership.
The announcement of Gerkus taking the helm at Torpedo came on August 18, 2022. Before becoming head, he served as the director of strategic development for the club, contributing to its long term plans and competitive approach in Russian football.
