Second edition this Sunday Job Race draws strong participation in Alicante. RunRun!, a local company, organizes the event in collaboration with the Alicante Sports Department and with support from NTT Data. This edition marks the province of Alicante’s second annual Business Race, a united effort to blend work life with athletic activity.

The event brings together companies and their employees within Alicante’s business community to promote workplace harmony through sport. Organizers emphasize occupational health as a core focus and see research-backed practices as foundational to healthier work environments.

The Business Race has quickly grown into one of Alicante’s most anticipated activities, drawing a broad audience of runners and spectators across the morning hours. The turnout this year surpassed expectations, with participation up significantly from the previous edition.

Attendance rose by 40 percent compared with last year, reaching 1,500 participants for this second edition. A total of 200 companies registered their staff, underscoring the event’s wide appeal as a team-building and wellness initiative. On these grounds, the organizers anticipate that this year’s edition will exceed last year’s numbers even further.

The race is scheduled to begin at 9:30 from Avenida de las Unidades near San Juan Beach. It offers two course lengths, 5K and 10K, and three competition formats: women, men, and mixed. There will be a company-based classification that adds each team member’s time to determine the overall ranking for the top three finishers from every company.

Awards will recognize the companies with the highest participation and strongest organizational engagement, highlighting teamwork and commitment to wellness within the corporate landscape.

In addition to the core business category, the event also features Self-Employed and Open divisions to ensure broad participation. The day promises a family-friendly atmosphere with a long-standing track and field tradition in San Juan, attracting a large crowd of supporters.

The Great Mediterranean Race

The countdown is on for the fifth edition of the Great Mediterranean Race, scheduled for November 12. Organizers report that only a limited number of 500 spots remain before registration closes, with a total target of 3,000 participants. The goal is to deliver a high-quality experience for everyone, featuring a well-organized post-race area and a smooth start process, free from delays.

Plans include a well-coordinated transport system with dedicated buses, ample cloakroom facilities, and trailers to accommodate participants and spectators. The race will start at the usual gate near the Alicante Provincial Council Palace and run parallel to the coast, passing through notable residential areas such as El Palmeral Park, Urbanova beaches, Arenales del Sol, and Carabassí beaches, finishing at Varadero Beach in the seaside town. A large share of registrations so far are national, with a portion coming from international participants, and a significant representation of women among entrants. The event is positioned as a festive celebration of popular athletics, drawing local pride and regional enthusiasm alike.

Organizers emphasize a crowd-friendly course, scenic coastal views, and a welcoming environment that encourages participation across ages and abilities. The Mediterranean locale provides a unique backdrop for an event that blends sport with community spirit, and the coordination aims to ensure safety, accessibility, and a memorable finish for every runner.
