Olympic speed skating champion and State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova of St. Petersburg Zenit stated she is prepared to guide striker Artem Dziuba as he considers a foray into politics.

“I am willing to share advice on how to align with United Russia. I can offer guidance, but I cannot admit him into the Party; decisions rest with colleagues at the highest levels,” Zhurova explained. She noted that she has only seen Dziuba on screen and doubts the move will unfold quickly, suggesting that figures like Gazzaev may also lend support. Still, she added that if Artyom seeks her help, she would be available. “I am ready to assist anyone who wants to connect their life with political work,” she affirmed to RB Sports.

When Zhurova herself pursued a seat in the Duma, she approached Vyacheslav Fetisov, who advised her on how to begin political activities. She also hinted that Dziuba may prefer male guidance in this arena, rather than female mentorship, which could shape the process ahead.

On April 30, amid his duties with Zenit, Dziuba surged to become the Russian Premier League champion ahead of schedule. The 33-year-old striker completed the season with 25 appearances, tallying 11 goals and 5 assists, underscoring his impact on the field as he weighs his next move off it.

Former Zenit chief executive Alexander Medvedev offered thoughts about Dziuba’s future within the club, weighing possibilities and the trajectory of the forward’s career as he contemplates football and life beyond active play.
