Obrad Fimich, the official representative for CSKA defender Alexei Shved, spoke about his client’s injuries amid the recent assault incident.

“The confrontation began with a clash of will and pride, a display reminiscent of the fiercest traditions of the boldest communities,” Fimich stated, describing the attack as a sudden escalation that involved multiple assailants. “During the street confrontation, after an impact to the head, Alexei fell and struck his head on the pavement. He sustained an open penetrating craniocerebral injury with skull fractures and brain contusion. Thanks to a merciful God, he survived such an event,” Fimich added. This account is attributed to Sport Express in reporting on the incident.

Reports note that the Swede had been spending Monday evening with his wife and friends at a central Moscow restaurant. Upon exiting, a dispute arose between Shved and several members of a party he did not know. According to witnesses, he was attacked by multiple individuals on the street; he fell after the blows and blood was observed near his ear. Restaurant staff quickly assisted the basketball player, helping to stabilize him until medical services arrived.

As a consequence of the assault, Shved was taken to a hospital by medical personnel for treatment and observation.

Lawyer Maxim Kalinin stated that the perpetrators could face up to ten years in prison, depending on the outcomes of the investigation and the charges ultimately pursued.

Former CSKA President Andrey Vatutin provided further commentary on the defender’s condition, sharing insights into his current medical status and ongoing hospitalization as he receives care in a hospital setting.
