In Japan, Sanwa rolled out a distinctive line of KB-SL6ABA Ethernet cables that use a magnetic detachable connector. The standout feature is the ability to disconnect safely if the cable is pulled, protecting the LAN port and the device from harm. This thoughtful design lowers the risk of damage in busy home offices or cramped workspaces where cables are moved often or tucked away behind furniture.
These cables are CAT6a compliant and support data rates up to 10 Gbps with a bandwidth of 500 MHz. The soft braided jacket helps with installation and reduces wrinkles, making it easier to route cables behind desks, around shelves, or through tight gaps. In Japan, lengths range from 1 to 10 meters, with pricing around 27 dollars for a meter and about 42 dollars for the 10-meter variant. At present, there is no information about international deliveries.
Sanwa’s latest cable design represents a practical step to shield network equipment and simplify daily use. Its mechanism mirrors the magnetic latch concept found in MagSafe devices, yet this version is positioned as a more affordable alternative for everyday setups.
