The Brazilian forward extended his deal with the white club shortly after Vinicius did the same.

Rodrygo Goes has officially renewed his contract with Real Madrid. The Brazilian striker will remain at the Santiago Bernabéu until 2028, following a confirmation shared just hours after his compatriot extended with the team.

Rodrygo Goes’ extension at Real Madrid: how many years of contract he signs, salary and termination clause

Rodrygo’s deal runs through mid-2028, and the renewal announcement was made on Thursday, November 2, inside the Bernabéu’s box of honor.

Like Vinicius, Rodrygo’s contract includes a termination clause worth one billion euros to deter tempting offers from the Premier League or the Saudi league.

Rodrygo, who joined Madrid in 2019 with a contract set to run until 2025, agrees to a new three-year term, a period viewed by some as a testing moment for the player in the Spanish capital.

Until the agreement, the Brazilian had recorded two goals and one assist in 14 appearances (1,017 minutes) and had not found the net in league play since the opening match against Athletic Club de Bilbao.

In this light, the timing of the extension appears intentional. It serves as a public signal that Real Madrid continues to trust the 22-year-old Osasco native and his potential contribution in the coming seasons.

According to multiple outlets, including Marca and AS, Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde, and Éder Militao are next in line for renewals.

Real Madrid’s statement

“Real Madrid CF and Rodrygo have agreed to extend the player’s contract, which will remain with the club until June 30, 2028.”

Rodrygo arrived at Real Madrid in 2019 at the age of 18. He debuted with Real Madrid Castilla on September 14 and scored his first goal for the senior side on September 25.

In the five seasons wearing the first-team jersey, he has featured in 179 matches, scoring 39 goals and collecting eight titles: one Champions League, one Club World Cup, one UEFA Super Cup, two domestic cups, one Copa del Rey, and two Spanish Super Cups.

At just 22, Rodrygo has been pivotal in several recent Real Madrid trophy runs. On the way to a historic 14th European Cup, he struck decisive goals that helped the club progress through difficult rounds. In the club’s latest triumph, the 2023 Copa del Rey in Seville, he netted both of Real Madrid’s goals in a 2-1 victory and was named MVP of the final.
