Movistar, Gol Mundial or TVE: which channel will broadcast the Qatar 2022 World Cup matches in Spain today

A large portion of the World Cup matches were accessible in open broadcast in Spain, while Televisión Española offered live games within the country and many others spread across the tournament. However, all 64 matches could be viewed on paid platforms such as Movistar and Gol Mundial.

On Movistar, the matches can be found on dial 57 and 58, whereas TVE can be tuned in on the audience channel through a standard digital terrestrial antenna.

TVE

Public television aired the opening game, one match from each of the seven remaining groups in the first phase, four from the round of 16, two from the quarter-finals, the two semi-finals and the final.

Spain’s games were also available live and free via the signal from The 1 of Spanish television.

The public broadcaster covered the clash, accessible on any device or TV without issues. Additionally, viewers could follow the clash via streaming on RTVE.es, the official site of Radio Televisión Española, and the RTVE Play app, the public broadcasting corporation’s platform. Moreover, other matches were shown on Teleport, the sports channel offered by this provider.

Nonetheless, not all matches appeared on TVE, and the 64 matches were also broadcast on Gol and Movistar, with some games carried by RTVE and the rest on an exclusive channel created specifically for the World Cup.

There is also an app available for iOS on the App Store and for Android on Google Play. Smart TVs could also download the Movistar+ app. The experience is designed to adapt to consumer preferences.

All matches were available to view live from anywhere, and there were also replays and on-demand options to follow the games at any chosen time.
