The format includes five direct promotions and five via playoffs.

With the regular season concluding in the Second RFEF, the key battles shift to determining relegations and promotions. The relegations and promotions take place in May and June to avoid dropping to the Third RFEF and to aim for the First RFEF.

How do promotions from the Second RFEF to the First RFEF work?

From the ten promotion slots, five are secured outright. The five group winners, one from each of the five groups, earn a direct berth to the First RFEF. This year the direct promotions go to He Arenteiro, River Sestao, Teruel, Antequera, and Melilla.

The remaining five promotion spots to Primera are decided through a playoff among the teams that finish from 2nd to 5th in each group. The pairs are drawn, pitting the top classifications against those with lower finishes while trying to avoid clashes between teams from the same group as much as possible. This format was confirmed by the RFEF. The first qualifying rounds, already drawn, include the following matchups:

  • Spanish B vs. Atletico Madrid B
  • Segovian Gymnastics vs. Recreational Huelva
  • UCAM Murcia vs. Sports Club
  • Zamora vs. Alavés B
  • SD Gernika vs. True Avilés
  • SD Compostela vs. Tarazona
  • Utebo vs. Recreativo Granada
  • Manresa vs. Navalcarnero
  • Cacereno vs. Valencia Mestalla
  • Atlético Sanluqueño vs. Real Promesas Valladolid

The second elimination rounds will be determined by drawing lots after the winners of the first rounds are known.

When is the play-off for promotion to Primera RFEF?
