At a major technology showcase, a new kind of virtual reality device was introduced that could reshape how players feel inside digital environments. The gadget is a vest designed to deliver tactile feedback, enabling users to sense impacts, injuries, pain, and other physical sensations while immersed in VR experiences.

The product carries the name OWO Skin and is available in a wide range of sizes from 2XS up to 4XL, ensuring a snug, body-hugging fit for diverse body shapes. Its creators claim the vest can reproduce up to 30 distinct physical sensations, including being struck by bullets, insect bites, stomach stabbings, darts, punches, bleeding, and more. The technology relies on sophisticated algorithms that craft sensation patterns by applying carefully controlled electrical impulses to the wearer’s skin. Users can tune the intensity and variety of sensations through a dedicated app, tailoring experiences to different games or simulations.

Industry testers and journalists have praised the technology for enhancing immersion in virtual reality experiences. They note that OWO Skin adds a tangible layer to virtual environments, helping users feel more present and engaged during gameplay or training simulations.

From a practical standpoint, the current model is available for pre-order in a short-sleeved variant priced at around $425, with plans to release a long-sleeved version later. The accompanying OWO app runs on Android, iOS, and Windows, and the vest is designed to operate for up to eight hours on a single charge, depending on usage and settings.

It’s worth recalling that CES 2023 previously showcased another device aimed at enriching gaming experiences—one that focuses on scent generation to accompany digital worlds. This broader movement points to a future where VR systems engage multiple senses beyond sight and sound, creating more convincing and immersive simulations.
