Olympic figure skating silver medalist Evgenia Medvedeva explained on social media why she left Moscow State University (MSU).

She said the press center confronted her over the headline of a recent interview and then refused to provide study materials. Despite asking for a grace period and paying all fees, the materials were not made available, she claimed.

In autumn 2021, Medvedeva enrolled at the Moscow State University of the Humanities and Social Policy in the Humanitarian Studies program. She later stated that she no longer studied there.

The 23-year-old athlete has two gold medals from World and European Championships in addition to Olympic accolades. Her competitive career effectively paused after December 2019.

Medvedeva has taken part in the Ice Age project for the last two seasons. Initially, blogger Danya Milokhin was her partner; more recently, the partnership is with actor Fyodor Fedotov.

Former Soviet Honored Coach Tatyana Tarasova has been cited commenting on how events in the skating world influence athletes, including the public reactions surrounding skaters Alena Kostornaya and Georgy Kunitsa.
