Natalya Gryzlova, wife of Ari Gryzlov, who serves as sports director for Moscow Torpedo, used her social media to describe what she saw as hostility among some supermarket staff in Russia. In posts shared online, she recounted experiences that left her uneasy about how people act in everyday shopping. She did not target a specific store, but spoke of mood and tension in certain outlets, where interactions could feel abrupt, and where queues sometimes became crowded and loud. Her comments arrived amid ongoing discussions about public behavior and civility in daily life, particularly for families who rely on grocery trips. She stressed that her remarks refer to patterns she has observed rather than a single incident and called for more respectful conduct from all sides in the checkout line.

She added that her eldest daughter, described as well-mannered and bright, was treated rudely by a salesman in a chain store near their home. The account was presented not as an isolated clash, but as part of a wider picture about how some retail experiences unfold for shoppers and staff alike. The family, known in football circles, watches these exchanges with concern, hoping for calmer, more civil exchanges in crowded stores.

She provided a direct quote, describing the scene at the Dixie store: “My eldest daughter is a very well-mannered and smart girl, she went to the Dixie store near our house to buy chocolates for our driver on the road. He was upset and said he would not go to this store again. People are angry, the salesman at the counter is cursing at everyone, people in line are pushing and shoving. I love our country very much, but this is a fact. This kind of behavior becomes extremely unpleasant”, Gryzlova said.

Over the course of his professional years, Ari, then 38, built a solid track record in the Russian Championship with Spartak Moscow, Lokomotiv Moscow, and Krasnodar. He earned Russian citizenship and wore the national team jersey in two matches. The forward is remembered for his versatility and the breadth of experience gained across several major clubs, which shaped his approach to the game and the way coaches saw him on the field.

In early December, Torpedo’s president Alexander Volnushkin publicly confirmed Ari’s appointment as sports director of the club known as the Black and Whites. Torpedo stood in second place in the First League at that time, having collected 43 points from 21 rounds and trailing Baltika Kaliningrad by two points. Earlier reports noted that Ari faced difficulties obtaining a U.S. visa, a factor that has intermittently affected his international travel and opportunities in the later stages of his career.
