All decisions of the Mexican national team will be approved by the owners committee.
The Mexican Football Federation announced its new Owners Committee, a group tasked with overseeing the national team as Mexico hosts the 2026 World Cup alongside the United States and Canada. Following a difficult exit in the group stage at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the federation carried out a major overhaul aimed at steady, ongoing progress for Aztec football. The changes began with the removal of Gerardo Martino from technical leadership, and continued with the recent appointment of Rodrigo Ares de Parga as Director of National Teams.

The approach to manage the national teams with a degree of independence from the federation is not new. A delegation was established in 2010 to ensure that all decisions related to the World Cup campaign were voiced and coordinated for the South Africa 2010 tournament. The new committee, aligned with the 2026 World Cup horizon, includes the following owners who will guide the team’s strategic direction:
