Patrick Bet-David, a prominent neighbor of Lionel Messi who plays for Inter Miami and the Argentina national team, discussed the football star’s influence on local prices in the region where he resides. The remarks were shared by Mundo Deportivo.
Bet-David noted that he purchased his house for 20 million dollars, and after Messi arrived, its value rose to 45 million dollars, increasing his capital by 25 million dollars. He emphasized that Messi’s presence has sparked a surge in demand for homes in the area.
Messi moved to this enclave, and now the neighborhood attracts new residents who want to be close to the star. The area is gated with a single entrance, offering a high level of security. Bet-David added that since Messi arrived, people arrive by boat hoping to catch a glimpse of him.
Messi joined Inter Miami in the summer of 2023 after leaving Paris Saint-Germain. He quickly achieved success by leading the team to the League Cup on August 20, securing the first trophy in the club’s U.S. history. In his first season with Inter Miami, Messi appeared in 14 matches, tallying 11 goals and 5 assists. The league currently pauses ahead of the next schedule and will resume later in the year.
On the international stage, Messi became world champion with Argentina in December 2022, adding his first major global title to a growing collection of accolades. In that tournament, the star scored seven goals across seven matches, including four penalties that made a decisive difference in several games.
Earlier reports noted that Kylian Mbappé occasionally missed time on the field while sharing the spotlight with Messi, underscoring the dynamic rivalry and mutual respect between two of the sport’s global icons.
