Pavel Mamaev and Alana Mamaeva have been together since 2013. Alana waited at a pre-trial detention center and later at a prison colony for her partner, and in 2018 their paths briefly intersected with another figure, Alexander Kokorin, after a clash in a central cafe. Their marriage, though enduring a long distance and public scrutiny, never felt seamless. Despite welcoming a daughter together, Pavel’s infidelities were a recurring issue, which Alana publicly chronicled on social media.

The relationship ultimately reached a breaking point after Pavel began a romance with Spanish model Irene Garcia. Alana could not forgive him, and the couple divorced in the spring of 2021. Early reports suggested that property and child-support arrangements for their daughter Alice could be settled amicably, but within a year multiple court hearings addressed how much Pavel should contribute for child care.

In 2021, a court determined that Mamaev should pay one third of his salary for the child’s upbringing. Pavel challenged this arrangement, and on April 27, 2022, the court ruled that alimony would be set at one sixth of his income.

Alongside the alimony case, the Presnensky Court of Moscow approved a settlement on a separate matter involving contact with the young girl, outlining how communication would be structured between father and child.

According to a representative cited by Moscow City News Agency, the agreement specified a gradual schedule for adaptive contact: daily phone calls with the father, certain weekend blocks, midweek visits, and holiday arrangements during winter break. The framework provided clear hours and days for interaction between the girl and her father.

The story seemed to be moving toward closure after the appeal was lodged by the player. Yet on May 17, Alana shared on social media that her ex-husband planned further reductions to the alimony payments. “Want a news? It turns out that you can break the bottom 1000 times! It never happened, and here it is again. Big ‘daddy Mamaev’ decided to further reduce alimony for his daughter. 1/6 is too much for him”, she wrote.

There were more reasons behind this possible shift. The possibility of a reduced alimony rate coincided with new family developments for Pavel. After the divorce, he did not stay single for long—by December 2021 he had become engaged to Nadya Sanko, and the couple wed in January 2022. Alana, meanwhile, was approaching the final stages of her pregnancy with their next child. In a subsequent public exchange, Sanko accused Mamaeva of receiving funds Pavel sent to their daughter, a claim that amplified the ongoing public discourse around the case.

Observers noted that ongoing parental disputes could influence union decisions and career prospects. The broader context included Pavel’s professional situation, as transfer rumors and club considerations pressed for a clear post-divorce pathway. In late December 2021, he moved from Rostov to Khimki near Moscow and made his debut in February in the Russian Premier League, a match in which he found little success and sustained an injury that led to an early substitution. He subsequently recovered and attempted a return in April, but did not feature in several league matches, raising questions about his role with Khimki.

As the season progressed, questions swirled about the durability of his contract with Khimki. Club officials indicated that decisions about renewals would await the season’s end, balancing the players’ wishes with coaching staff needs. A spokesperson noted that discussions would occur after the final matches of the campaign, with attention to both the club’s strategic direction and the players’ commitments. The public conversation around these negotiations reflected the intertwined nature of personal life and professional football in the modern era, where media scrutiny can affect both public perception and career planning.
