Lucentum Foundation announces a new initiative aimed at uniting its principal sponsors with local associations to champion solidarity and the values of sport. The effort, named Lucentum Social Engagement, seeks to create a durable network that links sponsorship with community initiatives across the province, delivering tangible benefits to families and young athletes.
The inaugural partnership pairs ASPANION, the Valencian Community Association of Parents of Children and Adolescents with Cancer, with HLA Vistahermosa Clinic. Under this agreement, HLA Vistahermosa serves as a sponsor for ASPANION, enabling all of ASPANION’s child members and their families to enjoy free access to the Pedro Ferrándiz Pavilion for the season. The collaboration brings together the President of the Lucentum Foundation, Daniel Adriasolavice, the foundation’s vice presidents, and the leadership teams of ASPANION and HLA Vistahermosa to formalize a commitment that prioritizes the well-being and inclusivity of local families.
Ignacio Alonso, vice president of the Lucentum Foundation, stressed the pledge to sustain this campaign beyond a single season. He explained that the project is designed to connect core sponsors with provincial associations, reiterating that Lucentum, as a foundation, has a founding mandate to cooperate with community groups. He expressed optimism about the current collaboration with HLA and ASPANION and highlighted the plan to bring additional sponsors and associations into future initiatives. The aim is to create a lasting ecosystem of support that grows with the foundation’s mission to serve local communities.
Alonso also noted that season passes have been donated to ensure that young players and their families can participate without financial barriers, encouraging families to enjoy basketball together and use the pavilion as a space for respite and shared experience away from daily challenges. The act goes beyond attendance; it invites families to invest time in sport, community, and mutual support, reinforcing the social role that sports organizations can play in people’s lives.
Aspanion’s Alejandro López, speaking on behalf of the association, thanked HLA Vistahermosa and Lucentum Alicante for their collaboration and emphasized the value of weekend gatherings at the pavilion. He expressed confidence that joint actions will continue to unfold and that the alliance will endure over time, expanding both the reach and impact of their efforts. The shared commitment is to create moments of solidarity that leave a lasting positive impression on participating families and the broader community.
María García, head of the Pediatrics Unit at HLA Vistahermosa, conveyed appreciation for the initiative and its potential to offer families with children facing cancer a source of distraction and relief during a challenging journey. The gesture aligns with a broader objective to support patients and their families by weaving moments of normalcy and joy into their treatment process, contributing to emotional well-being alongside medical care.
The agreement was formalized at the Pedro Ferrándiz Pavilion, with the Lucentum Alicante team set to kick off the partnership in their upcoming match against Alega Cantabria on Wednesday, November 1, at 19:30. The event marks a meaningful milestone in the foundation’s ongoing mission to leverage sports as a vehicle for social good, creating pathways for sponsorships to translate into concrete support for families and children in the province.
