Lokomotiv climbs in the Russian Premier League as Smorodskaya notes coaching favorites

Former head of Moscow Locomotive Olga Smorodskaya answered which Russian coach she admires most, according to RB Sports. She noted admiration for both Semak and Karpin, adding a candid critique about Galaktionova, saying she is not very good.

In the final round, Lokomotiv secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Sochi. Under Mikhail Galaktionov, the team has now earned seven wins in nine matches since the Russian Premier League resumed in March, signaling a strong resurgence for the club.

The win propelled Lokomotiv to 35 points, placing them in ninth position and ahead of Sochi, which sits at tenth with 34 points. This stretch has helped the team close the gap on the leaders and build momentum heading into the mid-season fixtures.

Looking ahead, round 27 will feature a trip to Samara where the railway workers will clash with Wings of the Sovets on May 14. On the same day, Sochi is scheduled to welcome Rostov to its home stadium, a key clash for both sides as the campaign unfolds.

During the 26th week of the Russian Premier League, former Lokomotiv player Dmitry Bulykin commented on the Moscow club’s recent victory over Sochi, offering his perspective on the team’s performance and the progress they have shown this season.
